Carillion Alawi appointed contractor for Al Baleed Resort
Project is one of the first private public partnerships in the Sultanate of Oman

Carillion Alawi has been named as the main contractor for the Al Baleed Hotel Resort and Spa in Salalah, it was announced on Saturday by Musstir, the Omani hospitality and property development company, and its 50% joint venture partner, Omran.
The project aims to become a key attraction at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Al Baleed, which is considered to be the cradle of culture and trade in the Dhofar Governorate. Part of the profit generated by the resort will be used to support the Al Baleed Archaeological Park Museum.
Carillion Alwai is expected start mobilisation of the project in December, while work is anticipated to be completed within 24 months.
The resort will feature a total of 136 rooms and will be operated by Anantara in Thailand. It will comprise of 106 one, two and three bedroom chalets, most with their own private courtyard swimming pools.
The main building will house an additional 30 guest rooms, recreation facilities, spa and food and beverage outlets and restaurants.
Al Baleed Hotel Resort and Spa is one of the first public private partnership projects in Oman and aims to set an example of luxury hospitality while conserving Oman’s rich natural environment.
