Keller wins ‘largest’ ever Algeria contract

Geotechnical contractor Keller Group says that its majority-owned Algerian subsidiary has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to support the construction of a 1,450 MW combined cycle power plant in Mostaganem.
In a statement the company said it will provide client Sonelgaz, a state owned utility company in Algeria, with a working platform of about 90,000 m³, and “install 260,000m of stone columns to mitigate liquefaction and 47,500m of bored piles as foundation support.”
The contract value is around $38.5 million and work has begun started on site and is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2019, it added.
“This is Keller’s largest ever project in Algeria where we have been active for 12 years,” said Thorsten Holl, president, EMEA Division, Keller Group. “The award recognises our capacity to bring a full design solution to the client as well as our reputation for executing to high standards.”
