The Big 5 Kuwait exhibition opened on Monday in the capital city, with this year’s event featuring more space for interiors products and the plant, machinery and vehicle (PMV) zone.
The exhibition – set to run until September 16 at the Kuwait International Fair – features over 20 workshops by industry experts, targeted towards architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, real estate developers and the public sector.
“Currently, there are almost $188 billion worth of projects in Kuwait under various stages of planning and construction, and the allocation of $7.2 billion in the 2015-16 budget for the construction sector provides further stimulus to the industry,” said event director Ashley Roberts.
“The Big 5 Kuwait complements the dynamics of the country’s burgeoning building and construction industry that is on the lookout for new products and services.”
The third edition of the exhibition is expected to attract visitors from Kuwait and the wider GCC, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE.
The open-air PMV Zone will feature a large display of machinery and vehicles from international manufacturers such as JCB, Bobcat, Mercedes-Benz and China’s XCMG.
Construction-equipment manufacturer JCB Middle East, along with its local partner Riham General Trading, will be showcasing a performance of its diggers, called the Dancing Digger Show. The show involves a team of expert backhoe operators performing synchronized routines in which the diggers ‘dance’ to music.
