Ajman’s Al Zorah awards $31m infrastructure contract
AIMS Group to complete road and utility works for first phase of waterfront project
Ajman-based Al Zorah Development Company has awarded a $31.3 million contract for the final stage of phase-one infrastructure works at its upcoming waterfront project.
The developer has invested over $136 million in infrastructure works for the 5.4 million sqm project, according to a company statement. The new contract awarded to Ajman-based AIMS Group covers the remaining road and utility works to support phase-one components, with initial stages of infrastructure development already complete. The work is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Phase-one infrastructure works included the design, earthworks, work on four marinas that can accommodate over 200 boats, the 18-hole championship golf course, highway linking Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Zorah, the entire road and utility network, bridge, and water edge protection across 3.5 km of waterfront.
The first phase of the $545 million development will be ready for residents to move in later this year, the developer said.
“The foundations of the success of any property development project spread over such a large area like Al Zorah, is dependent on the connectivity of its individual components, said Imad Dana, chief executive of Al Zorah Development Company.
“We are committed to the comforts of our future residents right from the start and we are ensuring that the entire project is geared to provide a holistic lifestyle from day one when people move in.”
