Towell Construction and Co LLC (TCC) has been awarded two contracts worth $55.8m by Saraya Bandar Jissah, an Omani holding company, for the construction of residential zones in Oman’s latest ‘integrated tourism complex’.

According to a report in the Oman Daily Observer newspaper, TCC will construct the two residential zones of Nameer and Wajih. The agreement was signed between Saraya Bandar Jissah’s CEO, Shaikh Hamood bin Sutan Al Hosni and the chairman and managing director of TCC, Hussain Jawad.

Nameer is set back from the beachfront with close proximity to two five-star hotels, and the residential zone consists of a mixture of three and four bedroom villas.

Wajid is located on the highest developed point of the project with panoramic views, and includes 22 villas close to five-star hotel facilities.

The two developments are part of the first phase of the development and completion is expected by 2017.

In 2014, TCC was awarded a contract for the construction of Saraya Bandar Jissah’s first residential zone, Zaha, which was launched in September last year. Zaha is being built on 2.2 million sqm of land.

“We are very pleased to award these contracts to TCC for the zones of Wajih and Nameer. They have been doing a commendable job with Zaha — the first residential zone — and we are confident that they will continue to do so with the two new zones assigned to them,” said Al Hosni.
