According to a news report by Times of Oman, Raeco will undertake electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply & desalination activities in the interior region. The company operates almost entirely in the Sultanate, covering the Governates of Musandam, Dhofar (except Wilayat of Salalah), Al Wusta and Wilayat of Masirah. Expected to be part of a series of infrastructure projects being implemented in the Musandam governorate, the power station will help electricity distribution in the region. The tender will open on November 11, 2013. The government recently also awarded Saudi National Contracting Co (NCC) a $97.92 million-contract to build the first major power transmission line in Musandam governorate.
