SEWA reduces completion rate required to submit approval files for electricity for new buildings

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) has reduced the completion rate required to submit the approval files for the electrical executive plans for new buildings to 60% from 75%, it has been announced.

According to a statement from SEWA, electricity contractors can now submit the approval files for the operational plans according to the new percentage while delivering the best services for customers and speedy completion of the procedures for connecting electricity services to buildings.

It added that the rule was applicable to all types of buildings, whether residential, commercial, industrial, governmental, or agricultural.

Maryam Obaid bin Hashem, a senior SEWA official, said the decision was in the interest of customers, the authority and its strategic partners. She added that the full project should be completed within the specified time for the delivery of services.

Requests can be sent online with digital transformation and in implementation of precautionary measures, she explained.

“The procedures and documents required for these services have been facilitated and the period for the transaction in the absence of remarks on the plans and payment of fees does not exceed two working days, with approvals being sent on e-mail,” concluded bin Hashem.
