Overseas AST announces appointment of Amin Nalouti as CEO
UAE-based contracting company says Nalouti to manage all operations and business for AST, effective from June 21, 2020
The board and management of Overseas AST, the UAE-owned construction company headquartered in Dubai, has announced the appointment of Amin Nalouti as Chief Executive Officer, effective from June 21, 2020.
In a statement, the company said that Nalouti will manage all operations and business for AST and will report directly to the shareholders and board of directors.
Armed with extensive experience in the UAE and GCC construction industries, Nalouti has delivered several complex projects and worked with leading businesses in the region. He was previously Area Manager at BESIX and General Manager, Infrastructure and Marine Construction Division at Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting.
‘The Board is confident of Amin’s ability to deliver Overseas AST’s unique offerings to clients and wish him success as he takes on this new leadership role,’ the statement concluded.
Founded in 1898, Overseas AST was a major construction company based in Europe. In 1959, it began established operations in Dubai, and in 1964, the business was officially incorporated by a Ruler’s Decree.
In 1983, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda of Dubai and Abdulla Mohamed Almazrui of Abu Dhabi, acquired a 51% share in the business. In 2003, the remaining shareholding was acquired from the parent company.
Overseas AST now operates as a 100% Emirati-owned company with a head office in Dubai, and branch offices in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
The contractor specialises in the delivery of Near Shore Marine and Civil Infrastructure, and Top Side Mechanical Installations in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Desalination, Leisure and Residential sectors. It operates in the UAE and in neighbouring GCC countries.
