Falconcity of Wonders, the UAE-based developer of the Falconcity of Wonders multipurpose megaproject being built in Dubai, has announced the award of a contract to Evolve Contracting, for the construction of the SAAM Vega project – a small pyramid, which is part of the planned Pyramids Park section of the development.

Aimed at recreating the famous world wonders from around the world, Falconcity of Wonders is a master project community covering an area of more than 41 million square ft. It is designed to host a variety of subprojects, including residential villa communities, luxury hotel apartments, a theme park, a mall, a business centre and replicas of World Wonders, designed as tourist attractions.

Part of the Pyramid’s Park project, the small pyramid SAAM Vega will feature nine floors of modern architectural design with 442 hotel apartment units, ranging from studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, under the management of a well-known hospitality brand, a statement from Falconcity of Wonders said.

Once completed, the project is expected to ‘become a new milestone in Dubai’s thriving hospitality landscape’, the statement continued. With the project’s ideal location between two main highways, easy access and exit, the project is designed to complement modern lifestyles, it added.

Regarded as a market leader in the contracting industry, Evolve Contracting said it aims to be consistent with its ‘history of creating ground-breaking facades’ and plans to create a ‘true icon of wonder’ with SAAM Vega.

Constructing a project of this size and scale proved to a challenge to the developer’s known technology and techniques, as various construction elements had to be tweaked in order to create the building. This included specially inclined scaffolding, through to earthquake resistant building designs. The project is also compatible with the requirements of a LEED certified building, as it is based on a sustainable model that is both resource and energy efficient, the statement added.
