DSI wins $30m Kuwait MEP packages

Company to provide MEP services to second college for Sabah Al Salem University

Drake and Scull Kuwait, the subsidiary of Dubai based Drake and Scull International, announced on Monday that it had been awarded an MEP packages worth $30.4m for a private residential development and the second college for Sabah Al Salem University in Kuwait.

The company had previously been awarded a $54.4m MEP package for the University in the fourth quarter of 2011. It has been actively seeking projects across a number of sectors in Kuwait, including residential, healthcare, education, and wastewater and water treatment.

“Kuwait is aggressively investing in state-of-the-art education facilities as part of a long-term commitment to enhance the literacy rate in the country and produce competent and highly skilled graduates. DSI aims to further capitalize on the government’s development strategy by providing advanced and tailored MEP solutions for the specific requirements of various types of educational facilities according to the most stringent quality and technical standards,” said Khaldoun Tabari, chief executive officer of DSI.

Since its inception in 2004, DSK has been involved in some of Kuwait’s top engineering projects including the Special Training Centre for Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Shuwaikh and the College of Basic Education- Boys Campus in Ardiya in addition to the Kuwait State Audit Bureau.

The subsidiary exclusively owns unique engineering technologies, especially in the MEP and Water and Power sectors, and enjoys close ties with governmental and private property developers.
