HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visits construction site of landmark project

Work on the Museum of the Future is progressing on schedule, with the project on track to open in 2020, it has been announced.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited the construction site of the upcoming landmark to inspect work project. This comes as part of his project supervision work, a report by state news agency WAM, said.

He also visited the Dubai Future Foundation and was briefed on the development of work at various projects undertaken by the foundation, it added. Sheikh Mohammed was also given an update on the progress of Dubai Future Foundation initiatives, such as Dubai 10X, Dubai Future Accelerators, Dubai Future Academy and One Million Arab Coders, amongst others.

He later toured Area 2071, which has been designed as a collaborative innovation hub that aims to bring together individuals and organisations to form a creative community focused on solving important human challenges at scale.

Area 2071 is considered a physical manifestation of the UAE Centennial Plan that aims to make the UAE the world’s leading nation by 2071.

Considered to be an incubator for futuristic innovation and design, the Museum of the Future is currently under construction in Dubai. It builds upon more than five years of temporary immersive exhibitions held at the World Government Summit, the report concluded.
