Dubai Investments says it is installing a first-of-its-kind set of coloured panels for a kindergarten building by Dubai Municipality in the Al Twar district of Dubai.

Designed and executed by Dubai Investments company Emirates Insolaire, the building façade framing its Kromatix panels will total 2,000sqm in area. In keeping with creating a child-friendly environment colours used will include green, blue, white, orange and red.

As part of its commitment to UAE’s sustainability mission, Dubai Investments has provided a total of 800 Kromatix active and passive panels, it said in a statement, adding that it offers the building “a never-seen-before, colourful aesthetic look.”

The kindergarten is the first of many projects that Dubai Investments and Emirates Insolaire are working with Dubai Municipality. Through Emirates Insolaire, Dubai Investments expects to play a pivotal role in the solar sector growth in a big way across Dubai, the UAE and the region.”

Through the use of the panels, the kindergarten building achieves LEED certification.

The kindergarten project with photovoltaic, colored solar panels from Dubai Investments is a major step forward in this journey and part of the endeavor to pursue a more sustainable development model,” added Marwan Abdulla Al Mohammed, director of the General Projects Department at Dubai Municipality.

Emirates Insolaire says that it has completed the installation of its solar PV modules around the world. According to the company, it’s colored and sustainable solar panels can be adapted to any façade and roof of a house or building – commercial, residential or skyscraper.

This is part of the objective to help students understand and consider solar energy as part of their lives from a very young age, the way children today experience Information Technology as part of their lives. Kromatix constitutes the skin of the buildings where the children spend their learning days. Emirates Insolaire has so far completed six educational buildings across the world and others are on the way.”
