Construction of Ducab HQ underway after ground breaking
Jasaf Building Technology Company to work as MEP and general contractor on project
Ducab has held a ceremony to commemorate breaking ground on its new global headquarters building in Jebel Ali close to Dubai.
The event was attended by Eng. Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, chairman of Ducab; Dr. Ahmad bin Hassan Al Shaikh, vice chairman of Ducab; Mabkhoot Al Menhali, Ducab board member and Andrew Shaw, managing director at Ducab alongside Richard Beard, managing director of designer Ramboll Middle East and Asia; and John E. Alford, group managing director of general contractor Jasaf Building Technology Company LLC.
According to the company, the new “headquarters will be environmentally responsive, built to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification when completed in 2019. The three-storey headquarters facility will have a total built-up area of 4,053 square metres, with a roof deck garden. Alongside its commitment to environmental conservatism, Ducab will echo the area’s indigenous plant life by creating a tree plantation alongside the facility. The tree plantation is inspired by the memory of the Founding Father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was an avid environmentalist, Ducab added.
