Property developer Meraas has announced that mock apartments at its Bluewaters development are now open for customers to view. The mixed-use development is being built on a manmade island sitting off the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) coastline.

The project consists of four penthouses, ten mid-rise residential buildings featuring 698 apartments split between one to four bedrooms, and 17 townhouses. The development is in close proximity to the 210m high Ain Dubai, which is poised to become the world’s tallest and largest observation wheel. The island will also host a plaza as well as over 200 retail and dining outlets, all of which are said to be at advanced stages of construction.

“Since the launch of sales earlier this year, the Bluewaters Residences have attracted strong interest from a discerning clientele that appreciates the significance of a statement address. We are confident that the island will add a new dimension to Dubai’s impressive waterfront residential portfolio and earn its rightful place among the city’s foremost luxury lifestyle districts, especially with the exclusivity of the townhouses as the only ones on the seafront in Dubai,” explained Mohammed Al Malek, senior vice president (sales) at Meraas.

Al Malek noted that the interiors of the Bluewaters Residences will have a “minimalist style in a neutral palette that combines the warmth of Scandinavian wooden floors with the opulence of soft metallic fixtures”.

Meraas’ statement also said that the project is designed for modern living and that its open-plan kitchens will be fitted with hi-tech Italian appliances and seamless worktops. The developer added that apartments offer views varying between Ain Dubai, the sea, the shopping boulevard and green open spaces.

The island can be accessed by a road bridge connected directly to Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as a driverless Group Rapid Transit System that is linked with the Dubai Metro. A 265m pedestrian bridge also connects the island to shoreline.
