ARADA launches Sharjah’s first smart homes within Aljada mega project

Developer is the first in the UAE to launch smart home technology as standard throughout a project

ARADA has announced that smart technology will be introduced into every unit within its ‘Misk Apartments’ buildings within its Aljada development. Labeled as ARADA Smart Home, the technology is said to provide residents with several benefits including energy cost savings.

According to a statement from the Sharjah-based developer, the ARADA Smart Home system will allow residents to user their mobile phones to access features such as remote front-door access and 24-hour video security. Residents will also be able to adjust temperature, lighting and manage utilities, in addition to enabling motion sensors within their apartments, and controlling blinds and curtains. The features can also be controlled by voice activation, ARADA says.

“One of ARADA’s core aims is to be a leader in the field of forward-thinking and sustainable development. Not only will the ARADA Smart Home system allow residents greater peace of mind due to round-the-clock visibility of their homes, it will also allow them to save money by monitoring their electricity usage more closely, which in turn results in a reduced impact on the environment. This is yet another sign that ARADA is determined to break new boundaries when it comes to delivering security, efficiency and convenience for our customers,” says HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, vice chairman of ARADA.

The developer says that the new technology will be added to each unit free of charge, as part of its commitment to create value for end users. It will be operated by a centrally managed and ultra-secure building monitoring system, according to the developer.

Delivered in phases starting in 2019, the entire Aljada mega project is expected to be completed by 2025.
